Fallon : Nevada

Fallon is situated in the scenic Lahontan Valley in northern Nevada, approximately 63 miles east of Reno. It covers a total area of 7.9 km² (3.1 mi²). Located on U.S. Highway 50, which parallels the historic Pony Express route, Fallon has been termed as "The Loneliest Road in America".

With more than 50,000 acres (200 km²) of farmland, Fallon is primarily an agricultural community. Although the area is arid, the farmlands get irrigated with water supplied by the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District. A seat in Churchill County, Fallon was incorporated in 1908 and was named after Michael Fallon, settler. Fallon mainly has two seasons with seven months of winter and five months of summer. It has an average growing season on 120 days and an annual precipitation of 4.88 inches.
